Meganet Corporation challenged some of the leading Software Hardware and Telecommunication Corporations, within the United States, to break an encrypted file.

The details of which follow:

The companies were supplied with

• VME flow-charts and technical application data.
  (Due to legal restrictions, these are not made available on the Internet.)
• A  working copy of VME  was provided. 
• One of Microsoft’s™ most famous operating system files was modified in a minor aspect and saved.

The challenge was to decrypt the file.

The point we were making was that even with the program, diagrams and flowcharts, as well as knowledge of the basic file contents, it is impossible to decrypt the file.  The file can only be decrypted with the proper keys and passwords.

We are confident that VME cannot be compromised, and challenged them to prove otherwise.

They did not succeed.

The files were:

• ENCRYPT.VME
• STK.KEY

The solution was:

• winlogo.gif

They needed to find:

• The Secret File used to create the million bit key.
• The original file used to create the above encrypted file.
• The Source User Name, Target User Name, Description and Password used in that session
